Game Day Recipe, Roasted Chickpeas

Smokey Spicy Roasted Chick Peas

I have always loved garbanzo beans/chick peas, from taking hummus in pitas for lunch in high school to putting fists fulls of these in my face I love them. If you’re looking for something quick and healthy to enjoy during the game this weekend this packs both a crunch and a spicy punch! Can make in the air fryer or in the oven.

Need:

Cookie sheet/ Air Fryer

Parchment paper

Smoked paprika

Peppercorns, pepper grinder

Cayenne pepper

Himalayan pink salt

Preheat oven to 400 -You will set air fryer to 300/350 I find some are powerful than others

Use cooked chick peas or *barefoot contessa voice* canned is fine, just rinse them(you won’t have to salt them as much later. If you plan to use dried start soaking 24 hours in advance.

Place chickpeas in bowl, drizzle olive oil onto beans enough so the spices will stick

Use 1/4 teaspoon cayenne or more, I like it HOT

Go wild with smoked paprika then stir, all chick peas should be coated, YUM!

Line cookie sheet with parchment paper

Spread coated beans on cookie sheet/ do one layer in air fryer at a time

Crank that pepper grinder!

Put those babies in the oven for 15 mins then stir them up so they cook evenly for 15 more minutes, keep checking on them until crunchy

Air Fryer- I checked on the beans every 10 minutes, they get crunchier even faster that way but I can do more at once in the oven.

Remove the yummy snack from chosen cooking tool and salt to taste

Share and Enjoy!
