Baked Brioche French Toast

Baked Brioche French toast

Overnight Brioche French Toast for a Crowd

As a fitness professional anytime I am assigned something to bring to the party I get the thrilling job of a salad or veggie plate. I take tremendous pride in making decadent and indulgent treats so when I was floating through Rockland Bakery (on the aromas of breads and sweets) shopping with eyes far larger than my stomach I came across the most beautiful loaf of braided brioche(Since it was made with butter, it’s brioche)

Overnight Brioche French Toast for a Crowd

  • 1 Loaf Brioche sliced(if you ask them they will use the slicer for you, Thin slices are important!)

  • 13 extra-large eggs

  • 2 cups Whole Milk

  • 1/3c Light Cream

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract(I use an amount that makes my ancestors uncomfortable)

  • Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg

  • 2 pinches kosher salt

  • 1/3 c sugar

  • 1/2c sweetened condensed milk

  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar I would have used dark brown sugar but I only had this which is why I added the molasses(molasses is the reason brown sugar is rown

  • 1 tablespoon unsulphered molasses

  • Warm pure maple syrup, for serving

Preheat Oven to 375

In a large bowl whisk the eggs together until solidly yellow

Add nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and both sugars to eggs, stir until sugar has dissolved

Stir in milk, cream, vanilla extract, sweetened condensed milk, and molasses. Stir until molasses and condensed milk are incorporated.

Add loaf of bread in the baking dish either with slices together( or in small pieces if you prefer)

Pour mixture over bread

Cover and put in fridge overnight or for at least 6 hours

Cover the baking dish with foil and set on a rack in the center of the oven. Bake for 20 minutes. · Remove the foil

Bake for another 20 minutes or until it no longer wiggles when you shake it(technical terms here)

Enjoy!

-Change anything you like, I made it up. I make a lot of things and sometimes the fun is in the experimenting
